SEER Rockdust is a TOP DRESSING and a COMPOST ACTIVATOR. As a TOP DRESSING, it benefits all types and pH of soil and promotes plant growth and vigour. It can be applied at any time of year and at any stage of plant growth. Simply sprinkle SEER Rockdust evenly onto soil from the edge of a spade or trowel then rake in, or let worms and weather do this for you.
MINIMUM ANNUAL DOSE
Apply 0.5kg per square metre, or in gardener’s terms “a handful a yard”. One 20kg bag will cover up to 40 square metres. This annual dose will also benefit your lawn.
OPTIMUM ANNUAL DOSE
Apply 2kg per square metre in first year for an initial boost then apply 0.5kg per square metre in subsequent years.
MAXIMUM DOSE: As used at the SEER Centre
Apply 5kg per square metre. One 20kg bag covers 4 square metres and achieves an initial boost and the longer-lasting beneficial effect for up to 5 years or more, depending on soil conditions and type of crops grown. Apply again when soil fertility decreases.
APPLICATION to POTTED PLANTS
Sprinkle 3mm SEER Rockdust onto soil surface. No need to mix, just water your plants as normal OR mix with potting compost prior to sowing or planting. Mix ratio, by volume, of 1 part Rockdust to 4 parts compost (as used at the SEER Centre) or up to 10 parts compost (depending on the plant’s nutrient requirements i.e. light or heavy feeder).
FOR LARGE AREAS
SEER Rockdust can be applied to fields, whether grass land or cultivated, using a lime spreader. Spinners can also be used but care has to be taken to prevent the SEER Rockdust sticking to the sides of the spinner. The minimim dose of 0.5kg per square meter is equivalent to 2 tonnes to the acre. The optimum dose is equivalent to 8 tonnes to the acre and the maximum does is 20 tonnes to the acre. The maximum dose will be too much for grassland.
COMPOST ACTIVATOR and ACCELERATOR
As a COMPOST ACTIVATOR simply sprinkle 3 – 5mm of SEER Rockdust onto each 5 inch / 13cm layer of green waste as you add it.
MIXING WITH OTHER PLANT FOODS
SEER Rockdust works well with soil conditioners, animal manures and plant foods. Additional lime is not recommended.
QUALITY CONTROL
This is a natural product and, as such, moisture content may vary but this will not affect the quality.
STORAGE & SAFETY ADVICE
Store in a dry place or under cover if stored outside. Do not apply in windy conditions.
